Calloway Partners was founded by Matt Calloway after more than 30 years in investment banking and private equity.
We take on a limited number of searches at a time, and a partner runs each one personally. Most of our clients are private equity sponsors hiring for their portfolio companies, along with investment firms and lenders building out their own teams.
We also run a specialist practice that places subject-matter experts with companies developing AI.

How we run a search

We meet with the deal team and management to agree on the role, the profile and how success will be measured.

Research and outreach
We identify target companies and candidates and approach them directly.

Assessment
In-depth interviews and referencing, followed by a shortlist with written assessments of each candidate.

We manage the offer process and check in with you and the new hire during the first months.

Matt Calloway
Managing Partner
Matt has more than 30 years of experience in corporate finance, merchant banking and private equity. He began his career in corporate finance and management consulting, then spent more than a decade at Lehman Brothers as a Managing Director in Merchant Banking, followed by a role as Managing Director in Leveraged Finance at Barclays Capital.
Before founding Calloway Partners, he was an Operating Partner at a Chicago-based private equity firm, working with management teams across its portfolio.
Matt holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a B.A. in Economics.
